To become a regular member of AGAC, your business must meet the following criteria:

Be a for-profit business whose main activity is the sale of cutting-edge contemporary art by artists it represents;
- Galleries whose main business activity is resale, secondary market or other services (framing, printing, appraisals) and rental galleries are excluded.
- Cutting-edge contemporary art refers to recent creations that explore, through artistic research, new and original avenues in the various fields of visual arts.

Be in operation for at least three years;
Have a physical gallery accessible to the public;
- Operate a permanent, commercial space set up primarily for exhibition purposes and accessible to the public at least 20 hours a week, in order to meet the mediation objective inherent in the role of an AGAC member gallery.
Represent the work of at least six professional artists;
- These artists need not be from Quebec or Canada.
- These artists must have a representation agreement with the gallery.
- Our website provides galleries with a sample contract free of charge.
- Copies of agreements may be requested.
Present at least five solo or group exhibitions by professional artists per year;
Having placed works in corporate or institutional collections will be considered an asset;
Obtain the support of 2 regular members of the Association;
Obtain 51% of regular member votes in favor of membership;
Have read and accepted the provisions of the Code of Conduct;
Pay your membership fee.

Regular AGAC members enjoy a number of rights and benefits:

Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting and eligibility for election to the Board of Directors.
Right to sponsor new members and to vote on membership applications. Sponsors undertake to accompany the gallery on request, and to witness its evolution if a junior member wishes to become a regular member.

Junior AGAC members in the preliminary phase:

The junior member has a maximum period of three years to meet the criteria for regular membership and submit a membership application accordingly. During this period, the junior member is entitled to attend the Annual General Meeting, but does not have the right to vote and cannot be elected to the board of directors.
